IEEE & Harvard B4B sponsored a survey by Bizologie to determine home charging habits of Electric Vehicle (EV) and Plug-in Electric Hybrid Vehicle (PHEV) owners in the US. IEEE also wanted to measure the interest in Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Grid.

Bizologie surveyed 500 EV and PHEV owners.

Executive Summary

51% of respondents were motivated to purchase their vehicle for environmental reasons
87% of respondents have home chargers
80% of respondents are interested in V2H, using energy stored in the vehicle to power their home
80% of respondents are interested in V2G, a two-way power exchange between their vehicle and the power grid
